Question
Each pair of items below illustrates a fallacy. Choose the letter of the fallacy contained in both items as shown and explained below. A - False cause (the argument assumes that the order of events alone shows cause and effect B - False comparison (the argument assumes that two things being compared are more alike than they really are) C - Either-or (the argument assumes that there are only two sides to a question) My girlfriend said my essay was extremely well written, so I'm sure my instructor will give it an A. Guns are dangerous, and crowbars are dangerous. But nobody tries to outlaw crowbars, so they shouldn't outlaw guns. False cause (the argument assumes that the order of events alone shows course and effect) False comparison (the argument assumes that two things being compared are more alike than they really are) Either-or (the argument assumes that there are only two sides to a question)Explanation / Answer
The reason behind this is that the girlfriend is being falsely compared with the instructor as both of them share different reality. The thought process of both of the individuals is different and this will only manage the way they think. The grade that the person gets is all upon the thought process of the individual giving grades.
The reason behind this argument is that guns and crowbars are both on the different levels and both of them are used at different levels. The argument assuming that both the guns and the crowbars dangerous but these are not the only two sides but they are considered in the question.
