The data mining is a process of studying the bulky data and them collecting the useful data from it which is later used to enhance or to increase the sales of a company. The various relations, trends, patterns from the past are studied well and are later on used for further improvements. The use of data mining can be seen in the field of e-commerce where the customer interest is searched and the past orders are also tracked which are later on used to show some related products to the customer and making it easy and comfortable for him to find similar products. The various interests of the customers are also recorded so that the homepage of the sites can be made according to the demads and the choices of the customer only.

Association rule mining is a process which is used to find frequent patterns, correlations, associations, or causal structures. They are found in various databases.
The basket analysis helps in increasing the profit of a business. In basket analysis, the things which are ordered with each other at one time are studied well. Like Bread and jam are order with each other as people prefer eating jam with bread but with that butter is also shown as some people prefer eating butter with the bread, therefore sometimes, people who only want to order for limited things, find themselves ordering stuff which was related to their purchases as well i.e. their necessary products+ the related additional products. Thus increasing the overall business of the firm and thus maximizing the profit.

KNN is an non parametric lazy learning algorithm.This is used whenever we have a new point to classify.We find its nearest K neighbours from the training data. The distance is calculated using various methods like Euclidean Distance method etc. The “K” in KNN algorithm is the nearest neighbors we wish to take vote from.
