There is an obvious link between increasing population and environmental devastation. There are certain methods which are rarely employed by government to control population such as taxation and other forms of financial disincentives. The main reason behind this is that the major part of the population responsible for such issues are concentrated in remote, poor, economically underdeveloped regions of the world which are less likely to be affected by such policies. There is no particular legislation till now. Government has been involved in generating awareness and persuading people to have a small family size for betterment of the health of the mother and child.morover the goverbement has created certain scheme under which people who are by government to bring pregnant women to the hospitals for save delivery. This is to increase awareness about healthcare and sanitation. But this is considered by women workers as promoting the expansion of family. People with more children are given grants for their education and welfare. This really encourages the citizens to have more children and enjoy the benefits of social securities.governemnt has been involved in providing contraceptive and family planning aids to couples free of cost for some time. There is the need for the bill to pass for population control which takes away all the necessary benefits from the families who have more than 2 kids’ subsidized goods and food grains, government jobs, employment under schemes like MNREGA, etc
