1. DOS is the legacy operating system, using now very rarely. But few application related to system maintanenace, frmware updation and diagnostics activities can be done by DOS with minimal usage of resources.

DOS is single user operating System where as UNIX is multi user operating system.
DOS has only the command line interface but the UNIX has it's own flavours of both commnad line and graphical user intefaces.
Security is not there in DOS where as UNIX is secured OS. As Security is there in UNIX it adds complexity to the OS. But most of the current servers are UNIX based security component is very essential.
3. The next big thing in computer hardware is the "Smart Garbage". As the electronic wastage is growing rapidly, the proper technology is required to manage this garbage more wisely & efficiently.
4. Artificial Intelligence for human brain simulation and delivering products which ordered online with drones.
