2) Which method - election or appointment - do you like better and why?

3) Should the current President of the United States appoint the next Justice of the US Supreme Court or our next President? Why do you feel the way you do?

Explanation / Answer

1-
Rulings on the cases are totally dependent on the mindset of the judge rather than being influenced by some other factors. At the state courts, judges are appointed by citizens of each state which creates a feeling of public responsibility towards the judges understanding but still the decision is solely based on mindset of the judge rather than being influenced by the selection process.

Different judges have different decision making style at every level of court system. This is specific differences in personalities of the judges influence the type of judgement as well as lead to different rulings on similar cases at different courts.

2-
Election is a better way to appoint a judge as it provides a collaborative availability of decision making through many people rather than being focused on one specific individual for implementation of an authority. As personal bias of one individual can leave a huge impact on the overall process of selection, using election process of selecting judges would be the most appropriate way of selecting judges for the court.

3-
No, current President should not be allowed to appoint the next justice of us Supreme Court or our next President as these decisions can be directly influenced by his personal bias or they can also relate to his development of personnel policies which would be disastrous for the society. Selection of Supreme Court justice should be fair as the justice is supreme justice maker in American Society , if personal bias comes in selection process then it would directly create a negative impact on such high operative post decreasing the overall quality of decision making and selection process.
