Question
(Problem 5-7). Assume 4 LANs are connected by bridges as shown below figure and mac address table at each bridge is initially empty Peet Pert 2 Port I Port 2 Bridgel Bridge3 LANI Port 1 LAN4 Bridge2 LAN2 Port 2 GH LAN3 CD 5. Station C in LAN2 transmits a packet to station G. Show the updated mac address table for each bridge from this transmission and explain how each bridge forwards the packet. (5 points) 6. After the first transmission as in problem 5, station E sends a packet to station A. Which station(s) receive(s) this message? Explain how. (5 points) 7. Assume all station transmit message to other stations and bridges learn all location of stations. Show mac address table at each bridge at this stage. (5 points)Explanation / Answer
5) When the station C in LAN 2 start transmit a packet first it send the packet to the bridge if the entry of the destination is store in MAC address table then the packet will transmit unicast or if the destination is not stored in MAC address table the it send a broadcast message to all station if the packet recived on the destination it send the ACK to the source in between this process the bridge store the MAC address of Source from forwading packet and MAC address of destination from the ACK(Acknowledgement).
6)
Same process is done
Bridge 2
