Question
Can you give me some ideas? Doesn’t need to answer all things but my point is understand this question and model it We consider a simplified version of the board game Monopoly The game is played on a board where 40 spaces are marked on the edge. The players move by throwing two regular dice and moving their token forward according to the roll of the dice. When reaching the 40'th space, they continue from there to the first space et There is one peculiarity: when landing on the 30'st space, commonly marked ‘Go to Jail, the token is moved to a smaller space, the ‘Jail, on the 10th space. In the normal game, a token can leave Jail by paying or by throwing double dice, that is, (1, 1), (2, 2) etc.,afer the third attempt, the player has to pay For the simplified version to be considered here, we assume that the token can only leave when the player throws double dice, moving then according to the roll of the dice We disregard all other rules of the game, like 'chance' and 'community chest' games. There is only one player, playing on forever. Assume that the game is played for an infinite amount of time. What is the fraction of turns the token is on the i'th space? What fraction of turns the token is in Jail? I need to find it by using matlab Do you have any ideas about this matlab code?
Explanation / Answer
Here, This game tells about a game played on a board say it as,
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ...........................35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40
A player have a dice which has number marked from 1 through 6.
E.g:
if a player throw two dice and gets 2 on the first and 4 on the second dice.
He has to move his tokens to 6th(2 + 4) place on edge.
Player has to continue back to 1 (like 40, 39 ..2,1) if it reaches the number 40 by any chance or there
movement of token increasing 40.
If the token lands on the number 30th(Go to jail)player has to move his
token to the place 10th(which is jail). From that place player can only move his token
once he gets any one same number on both the dice which is (1, 1) or (2, 2) or (3, 3) or (4, 4) or (5, 5) or (6, 6)
Question says as the only one player is playing the game and he continue to play it forever mean
infinite times throwing of two dice.
What is chances or fraction a token is on ith space(1, 2, ...40)
so if a player throws a dice for 6 times if gets 1 times each on (2, 14, 26, 32) and 2 times on 38.
then all fraction is zero for all the other numbers but 1/6 for (2, 14, 26, 32) and 2/6 for 38.
