Explanation / Answer

Any two WAN attacks and threats.
1.Zero Day Attack
This includes the attack occuring on "day zero" of awareness of the threat. So, the developers have had zero days to address or solve the attack.These are softwares or strategies that usesa a security hole for a successful attack.
In WAN networks, these attacks can lead to unexpected network utilization and reduce the performance of the service provided.

2.Unauthorized Access Attack
This includes when an attacker gains access to device, network or information he is not supposed to know. It can be the result of unmodified access policies.

Apart from this, there are also many attacks you can write about, such as: Resource Depletion Attack, Resiliency, Reconnaissance and Routing Protocol Attack.

Now the counter measures:

Zero day attack
Well, first 3 rules which you have to follow are:
1.never install softwares you don't use or need.
2.The softwares which you use should always be updated to their latest version.
3. Always have a firewall on which you can rely upon.

Unauthorized access attack

Apply security patches by performing Automatic update feature.
Password security should be mandated.
