A. Practice creating analogies—Pick three topics from the list shown here, or make up some topics of your own that involve technology and humans. For each topic, think of an analogous situation that does not involve computing. For example, if you picked “online education and cheating,” an obvious analogy would be to consider

B. Practice finding stakeholders—pick your favorite topic from among the three topics you chose in Exercise 1a. For that topic, make a new list of all the significant stakeholders in the topic. (Hint: Remember that a stakeholder can be an individual, a group of individuals, a corporation, perhaps the environment, or any other entities you think are important in your topic.) For each stakeholder, list what the stakeholder most values in this situation. It might help you to frame a specific question or propose a particular action related to the topic. For example, if your topic is “online education and cheating,” you might propose the action, “online education should be suspended until online cheating can be better controlled” or “online education should include automated cheating detection.” This narrowing of the topic sometimes simplifies the task of imagining what people value with respect to this issue.

C. Practice identifying costs and benefits—For each stakeholder you identified in Exercise 1b, list the possible costs and benefits in the situation you chose. In many cases, these are potential costs and benefits, things that might or might not happen. Sometimes the words vulnerability and opportunity can be more accurate than cost and benefit because of uncertainties in the situationc. Explanation / Answer

A) 1Computer simulations in the courtroom- A similar analogy would be giving some materialistic evidence related to the case. Both the computer simulations and materialistic evidence are used to prove a point related to come case and so as to bend the verdict in your favor.

2. Loss of jobs due to technology- A similar analogy would be a loss of jobs due to an increase in population as an increase in technology is leading to automation fewer people are required to do a particular job on the other hand as the population is increasing and the number of jobs remaining the same is leading to unemployment.

3.Sales taxes on Internet sales- A similar analogy would be sales taxes on showroom sales. Both lead to an increase in cost for the buyer. Like on internet sales whatever you buy you have to give an additional sales tax for it similarily whatever you buy offline or from stores an equal sales tax is added to the cost.

B)I happen to chose one of my favorite topics and that is lack of jobs due to technology. So for the particular topic, the stakeholders could be an individual looking for a job, A college worried for its students to get placed, Or a company looking for employees. An increase in technology has lead to reduction int he number of jobs as with an improvement in technology things are getting automated and hence less number of people are required to do a particular job or people in the market has a skill set that has become obsolete so Improving the education system and more training on these new skills can help improving the present jobs scenario.

C)Identifying cost and benefits- As required an additional training should be given so as the help the students match their skillsets as per the standard of the industry. This can lead to increase in cost obviously but then there would be an equally better opportunity for the student or an individual for getting a job.
