Question 1)

A BIM developer needs to have a deep understanding of concepts which go beyond the typical geometry knowledge. So a question that can be asked is:- Does the developer have cogent understanding of spatial relationships which extends more than the three basic dimensions of height, width and depth? For example: time, cost management, light analysis, etc.

Can the developer hypothize relationships based on different parameters and objects involved in developing a building information model? This is done because in BIM, the objects are interdependent and a change in one variable impacts the rest of the dependent objects.

Can the developer handle information retrieved from disparate teams (like architects, landscape architects, surveyors, etc.) who will provide different information based on their domain of work?

Is the developer familiar with the BIM project life-cycle? There are various phases involved in the life cycle of a BIM project. Namely:  cost management, construction management, project management and facility operation.
The developer needs to have an in-depth understanding of each of the phases as they are essential to the final execution of the project at hand and in developing the project-specific software

Does the developer know how to use the existent softwares like FreeCAD? The developer needs to be familiar with the current trends in order to build new software or better the existing ones.
