You have been assigned the unenviable task of informing employees of the company that expected holiday bonuses will not be distributed this year because of an unexpected downturn in company profnts. This is the first time this has happened since the bonus program was created ten years ago. This is a sensitive message because it will likely disappoint employees and may additionally cause them to lose confidence in the future of the company. Your challenge is to offset this initial reaction and reaffirm their commitment to SimuTech.

Explanation / Answer

As the head of human resource of this company it was my duty to convey information to the employees. At this company management had given me a very tough task i.e. to inform employees of the company that expected holiday bonuses will not be distributed because of unexpected downturn in company profits.

           I will inform them that “Due to the downfall of the profits we cannot pay the bonuses this year but we will promise you that definitely company will pay bonus with the additional allowances like health insurance to the family, increase of the salaries if the employees perform their excellence this year and offer any family trips. We know that every year our company pay holiday bonus to us without any delay but due to this unexpected downfall it fails and it was our duty to regain profits to our company. By having the trust on our company as before we should work and hard for our bonus and additional allowance. It’s my request to you employees that no one should regret their respected works and reaffirm your commitments that what had given by the company”. This is the way I used to convey message to the employees in the convincing manner.
