1) Fayols functions of Management facilitate the effective management of an organisation to adequate application of strategy within each function resulting in a planned approach to the crucial processes within an organisation leading to achievement of collective objectives of employees and Organisation.
The first function of management of planning is the most important tool which lays out the road map to be followed by the organisation for successfully arriving at its destination, which is the goal of the organisation. An organisation draws out a plan of action through due consideration of all available resources, it can please do in efficiency and wastages due to resources not being optimally used.
Organising is the most important function which consists of effective implementation of the plan which lays out the goals to be achieved, for success in the results. Rising consists of five elements which help fine tune this process through facilitation of specialisation which is encouraging every employee to maximize skills and optimise utilisation of these skills in the identified area of expertise. Unity of command to avoid confusion bye identifying and implementing a formal chain of communication so easy and effective communication is facilitated and achieved. Providing direction through adequate communication to employees of the goals to be achieved and facilitating the cooperation and coordination to adequate delegation of authority and clear communication of expectation of responsibility and accountability related to such authority.
Commanding process to be efficient and effective not only for communication of orders along with the required instructions for successful implementation of the orders. An effective system of command will lead to everyone taking initiative and responsibility resulting in subsequent achievement of objectives.
Coordination is effective management of group dynamics which exist within every organisation so as to promote cooperation and harmony among all individuals, groups and departments through effective flow of communication and exemplary leadership. Unless every individual feels an important and integral part of the organisational whole objects cannot be achieved.
Controlling of every process within the organisation requires monitoring of the actual process and analysis through comparison with the planned processes to identify deviations and take adequate corrective and preventive measures at the earliest to avoid widespread damage and mitigate all associated risk factors.

The roles which require extensive interpersonal contact are of the head of a department or an organisation which is the figure head. He is a role model and represents the organisation internally as well as externally and maybe the head of department or of the organisation. An example is the CEO of an organisation. A leader who may be a manager who needs to have extensive interpersonal contact to motivate staff towards achievement and optimise their output. A liaison manager who serves as an important bridge between top and lower levels within any network. He is the major facilitator for establishing and maintaining relevant contacts to facilitate required results for the organisation. This could be the manager facilitating communication between product manufacturing and customer relationship and feedback departments, through interpersonal contact with both departments.
The managerial roles which require processing of information as the major factor facilitates the adequate distribution communication and analysis of all information within an organisation in both horizontal as well as vertical directions. The roles which associated with information management are of a monitor, disseminator and the spokesperson. The monitor is responsible for adequate information management through effective arrangement analysis and assessment of the information along with directing the flow of such information in the right direction. The disseminator is the manager who is responsible for transmission of information to subordinates and others within the organisation that may be relevant and of value to the organisation and obtained internally or externally. The spokesperson represents the company and communicate for the organisation with outsider on all matters of relevance bye making available all information required by concerned stakeholders in the external environment. Confirmation mostly relates to corporate policies, performance and activities.
The managerial roles in the third category are segregated on the basis of decision making as the most important function of the role. This consists of the leaders at different levels and is greatly impacted by style of leadership adopted. An entrepreneur, a disturbance handler, a resource allocator and negotiator all come under this category. all these roles require Independent and quick decision making is a crucial factor for effective performance of the duties which fall under the purview of the profile allocated. Effective management relates to strategic application of managerial skills in a situational manner rather than having a wide range of skills with in effective utilisation and implementation. Decision making in an effective and efficient manner especially in critical situations can be crucial to the success of any organisation and is therefore one of the most important skills required. It can effectively resolve crisis situations, mitigate and negate risks, and lead the organisation to success.
