There is question and answer and comment in below ,it seem that answer was wrong and it was refering to something diffrent, WHAT I NEED IS I WANT COMMENT ABOUT THE "ANSWER AND COMMENT" BASED ON QUESTION THAT ASKED AND SHOW HOW THE ANSWER IS WRONG OR MAYBE RIGHT

Discuss the advantages of Tier 2 Model over Tier 1 Model.

Answer:

1-Tier Architecture:

In tire-1 architecture all 3 layers,presentation layer,Business layer and data layer are on single same machine. So that all processing code is kept on single machine only. In tire-1 arcitecture Presentation, Logic, Data layers are tightly connected. Because of single processor, it is very hard to increase processing volume.Missing prorability,that means if we want to move data to anothiner machine we have to rewrite everything. And main draw back is that if there is any trouble in any sinle layer we need to change all layers.

2-Tier Architecture : In tire-2 architecture presentation layer and business layer are on single machine and database runs on another Server. The main advantages with 2-Tier Architecture over 1-Tier Architecture are:

Database is saperated from client.

Easy to switch to a different database

COMMENT: I believe what you are referring to is N-Tier architecture, where each layer is separated by a network. However the Tier 2 Model is actually referring to the MVC pattern which can appear to be N-Tier but is not.

The answer is partly correct, Since the explanation is not for Multi- tier architecture, The explanation is given for multi- layered architecture.

My Answer would be:
A System generally consists of 3 Tiers:
Presentation Tier, Business Logic(Application) Tier, and Database Tier,

In a 1 Tier architecture, DBMS is the only Entity, where user changes the Data using DBMS tools. It doesn't provide any User interface. This is generally used by the DB designers. Simply we can say it has Only DB Tier which has all the basic functions of Presentation and Application tiers.

Whereas in 2 Tier Architecture, DBMS is accessed through an external application (Presentation + Business Logic).

The main advantage of using this 2-Tier architecture is switching the database is very easy as DataBase is independently operating in this architecture.
and one more advantage is It offers more security as the DB is on differnet network, security can be provided independently to DB tier.

The given comment is irrelavant to the answer.
