Yes, It is realistic for you to believe that coaching efforts will yield organization value becasue of the following reasons:
1. It enhances the knowledge base of the staff.
2. Prepare staff for the current work, because most people don't have the requisite knowledge to do the job at hand.
3. Help them advance up the corporate ladder.
Coaching roles for staff development:
1. Listening: Effective listening involves focusing on what others have to say and provide effective solution for the same. Even if you don't have a solution you can guide the person to the correct person who ay be able to help. You should understand what others have to say. Once you are an effective listener you may have trustworthy peole and a lot of ideas from these people who would believe that you would be the right guy to carry out the function.
2. Competency building: Through focussed training you can helf your staff gain knowledge and excel in the work that they are doing. In that case the departmental goals can be met with better outcomes and even the organizational goal.
3. Accountability: If you coachh your subordinates to be accountable, you can depend on them for the work entrusteed to them while you can work on your own and organizational developmental projects.
4. Encouragment: Encouraging your team to break barries helps them in -a) think out of the box and do improvements that can benefit the organization, b) employees will feel motivated, attrition will be low and KPIs can be meet in a better manner.
5. Celebration: Celebrating not only a good performance but also making them and the achievements visible to the management and in front of the team, motivates the staff to perform better, think differently and grow (both themselves and the organization)
