Exercise 2
Suppose that one of your direct reports, Adam, comes to you, and complains that one of his peers, Bob, acted in a very rude way after he had suggested a minor change in a document. Both have been working together on the same project for more than 1 year. Bob is the most knowledgeable DS in the project and is highly regarded by the client, however, you also get word that Bob has been arriving late to work, and that is performance has been deteriorating. You also manage other teams working on shorter projects, and this issue has not occurred on any of them.
What would you do to assess and solve this situation?
Explanation / Answer
Inorder to solve this situation the best way is to discuss with Bob directly. But first we need to take opinion from the customers and other employees. We need to prepare a report based on those feedbacks and analyse the work done by Bob till date. Based on all these we need to discuss with Bob about his work and the complaints that came on him . Based on the explanation and answers given by Bob we need to take the necessary action . As he is experienced we must try to make him realise the mistake and rectify it .
