One trait common to all highly effective leaders is that they are not afraid to take risks. They understand that in order to move forward and compete effectively, they have to go into adventures, explore, and test the waters in order to search for opportunities. Effective leaders also understand that they cannot stay stagnant, and the idea of doing things the same way over time will not be sufficient. In fact, such practices will negatively impact the organization (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). The concept of challenging the process encompasses the idea that leaders have to think outside the box and reject the status quo in order to be exemplary and support the success of their organization (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). They have to ask questions, and rather than responding with prescribed answers, they should use the questions as a starting point for innovation and the realization of the shared vision. The practice consists of the following components: Searching for opportunities in order to get extraordinary things accomplished Taking risks and experimenting with new ideas in order to remain relevant Understanding that success and advancement are generated through innovation and creativity In your own words, share an example of an instance where you or a leader you followed took a calculated risk. The leaders take risk due to following reasons:
1. The leader in the organization will create opportunity towards innovation and creativity and ensure on making the employees to achieve the goals through those opportunity, as that impact on the growth of the business. So that they take risk towards business development.
2. Leader will take risk to be as a role models for their followers, because on accepting challenges will motivate their followers to be in the same way and that impact towards achieving their tasks together.
3. The leaders want to increase their team effectiveness so they take risk on participating with them and ensure their visions to be accomplished on through overcoming on business obstacles.
4. The leaders creates the ability and capacity of their followers, so they take risk on making understand the employees to be on with full confidence to achieve their targets.
