I and the team are working a sem long project, where we present ourselves new business idea, first giving the proposal of the business idea and explore into areas( in-detail) like in marketing plan, technology plan, personnel plan etc...

Summary

Here is the idea that we present a web application that uses 3d printing technology for producing custom items like mobile gadgets, electronics peripherals, customs decorative artistry items etc.... For now, we assuming the production of custom mobile cases where the customer can interact virtually in designing his own mobile case with the application interface and order the custom good........

Business point:

Our company is a middleman we don't have 3D printers to produce a custom, we rely on local 3d printers store or industries to produce the custom. We are Business to business, where we connect retailers or customers with 3D printing industry.....

Question:

Now, Geographically we don’t have any specifications since we don’t have any locations for the customers to go to, but rather just use our website. However, since we are just a start-up company, for now, we will be focusing on Michigan customers... I just like know more in terms of the environment in legal factors that will affect our market.....

In analysing the environment especially from the legal angle, we should be aware of the obligations and liabilities that our firm would incur while undertaking the responsibility of getting things manufactured for our clients. Since we would be entering into a sale and buy contract with our clients for the manufacture and sale of 3D printed products, the agreement or sale contract should have clauses, which limit our liabilities in terms of warranties provided in the contract, quality of products and overall indemnification for any defect in the product post the warranty period.

With regards to the manufacturer who would be manufacturing the products, we should have necessary safeguards in place to ensure quality products or else a provision of penalty to ensure that quality is maintained. Additionally, from the legal standpoint we should not have any unhedged or open exposure with regards to commitment to our customers which we don’t have a back to back agreement with out suppliers.

The company would be subject to Michigan laws and all necessary compliances related to employee protection, customer protection would be applicable as per the prescribed regulations of Michigan, since the primary business geography is Michigan.
