While most of the people say that having a depth knowledge in computers is the main requirement for being employed in IT, but rather IT employees are those who help the enterprise to solve complex problems. Problem solving is the most crucial attribute of any IT team member.

One should have following attributes to get employed in IT sector:

Good problem solving skills

Strong work ethics

Ability to handle “Burst Stress”

Critical thinking

The various IT job categories are as follows:

1. Desktop Support: The main task of desktop support team is to maintain the software and all other equipments that employees in company utilize to get their jobs done. The job demands patience and good communication skills as the man will oftentimes be assisting the users who are already annoyed with their machines. One has to be highly fluent in all the application or system softwares that are used in the enterprise.

2. Security: Security generally finds one tasked with doing audits of internal data security and setting standards to help achieve compliance with data security standards. The field focuses on the security aspects in design of softwares or systems that need to be able to deal with possible sources of disruptions, ranging from malicious acts to natural disasters.

3. Database Administration : You need to be fluent in SQL in order to get hired as database administrator. Database Administrator is responsible for all the data management and even data security is the primary aspect, the DBA works upon. Other than SQL or RDBMS knowledge, one is supposed to be good in communication because he is the one one who interacts with the user or customers to gather data and sometimes has to contact database vendors for technical support.

This position requires an individual who is well versed in supporting databases on a high availability Windows platform infrastructure and can work with a development team to design and implement new schemas and supporting database objects. The ideal candidate, a strong MS-SQL DBA, must enjoy working in a dynamic setting with the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities and challenges.


Responsibilities:

Perform duties of a Database Administrator of SQL Server in Development, QA and Production environments.

Gain a deep understanding of the application business logic, schema and features to be able to assist development team with the design of database schemas, views, triggers and ETL.

SQL Server Clustering (Active/Passive), Resource Groups.

Transaction Log Shipping.

Develop, implement, administer and maintain security and integrity of the Application databases.

Resolve database performance, capacity, replication and other distributed data issues.

Implement data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.

Effectively participate in the Rapid Application Development process, including design, development, and deployment.

Complete other duties, tasks and activities as they arise.

Requirements:

5+ years’ experience with MS-SQL databases

Knowledge of SQL Server 2012

Familiarity with data warehousing techniques.

Strong technical skills including system installation and upgrade, backup and recovery, data server migration, database maintenance and support, release management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, developer and third party product support, configuration and support of SSIS jobs, agent jobs, and maintenance plans.

Yes Obviously Apart from computer knowledge ( SQL or DBMS in this case) the job also demands one to have good communication skill, ability to solve complex problem and deal with “Burst stress” .
