Your best friend is from another country outside the U.S. One day after a particularly stimulating lecture on the meaning of ethics by your instructor, you and your friend disagree about whether culture plays a role in ethical behavior. You state that good ethics are good ethics and it doesn’t matter where you live and work. Your friend tells you that in her country it is common to pay bribes to gain favor with important people. Comment on both positions. What do you believe? at least 200 words, please.

I believe that good ethics are good ethics and it doesn't matter where you live and work. Because

Ethics are closely related to moral behaviour as well as religious understanding. People who respect ethics are also god-fearing. So, people with ethical behaviour would always influence society. Since culture is born and brought off in a society, ethics will have more influence on the culture is the society. But I strongly believe that ethical behaviour totally depends on individual person. If a person have ethical behaviour, he wouldn't cross his limits and never commit with wrong behaviour or wrong activities, even he belongs to that kind to culture or he lives in that kind of culture.

As my friend said, in some countries, corruption, unethical activities are very common but all people are not related to that category, in that countries also we see the people with ethical values and ethical behaviour. So if you have good ethical behaviour, you can follow same behaviour and it doesn't matter where you live and work.

For suppose in many countries, we can see that government agencies take bribes but at the same time we can see that many people with ethical behaviour never takes bribes and work in favour of the people.

So ethical behaviour totally personal and it doesn't influenced by the culture
