Question
This question has to do with ethics. You own a resturant and in order to turn a profit you need to be able to sell alcohol, but you've tried unsuccessfully. One day you've found out that a buddy of yours is running for office. You go to him and ask if there's anything he could do to help. He answers," If and when you make a big contribution to my campaign then I guarentee you'll get one. Knowing how unethical it is what do you do? What are your alternatives? What are the consequnces of your actions? Consqeunces of your alternatives.
Explanation / Answer
Explanation:
- In order to maintain the ethical standards i would not allow this to happen, because this is clearly indicated as bribe for the campaign. This is against the morale and ethical standards of business.
- The best alternative is that to go through standard procedure and apply with agency again with proper documentation so and before re application assess the application with profes-siona* lawyer or anyone. Another option is that wait for the buddy to get in office and afte+r electio-n and make the process easy when hp[o\e gets in office.
- If we deny to make contribution and if that person come to authority we can have problem obtaining alcohol license in future. And if we wait for the repplication we might loose some time during that reapplication period and that micght affect profit of restaurant.
