Discuss the nature of planned change with your classmates. What is planned change? Why is it important? Is all organizational change planned? Give an example of planned change in an organization. Planned Change is a carefully thought through change for preparing the entire organization or a significant part of it for new goals in the new direction. It is a carefully documented and well organized changes based and supported by data for the organization toachieve greater heights of success.

It is important as the organization can bring about significant changes and achieve new goals and new direction only based on planned changes. Certain changes in the organization are not planned. Changes brought about during emergency conditions are not planned.

When British Airways hired a new CEO as the company was facing constant losses, the first decision taken by him was layoffs.Thus many of the employees were laid off from the company for the purpose of cost reduction. This was a planned change.

I am not a person to follow the crowd.I always bring in something unique to the organization and to the people, thus believes in innovations and not following the crowd. A person of values and high ethics would always inject the espoused ethics into the company tobring about changes.

In a foreign country, the participation and cooperation from the fellow colleague and top management is very much required to affect corporate changes. People in a foreign country should be given successful examples of the corporates which are following the values and laws and thus their support and participation can be gained. Thus the new values and laws can be embraced in the corporate of the foreign country.
