The managing human resources functions in navy and Public sector employers is a challenging job. The differences of managing challenges are as follows:

1. Recruitment goals of the navy are different then the private company employer hiring goals.

2. The training the employees of Navy is in contrast to Private company as Navy trains their employees for the 100s of specialised position. The private company trains for the specific profile.

3. Navy Managed their employees career for the 4 to 6 years whereas the private company can't.

4. Navy encourage their employees byound their personal commitments whereas private sector encourage for the person commitment.

The similarities are

1. Navy has experiencing the very high retention rate same as private sector.

2. Creating surplus employees in some areas same as private sector.

3. Navy have the shortage of qualified sailors.

2. The economic, technological and cultural environments effect HRM in navy and other armed forces as technological factor such as presence on the social media has created a diversity initiative. The homosexuals are working with the navy due to the policy don't Ask and Don't Tell which effects the social cultural in navy. The economic environment develops the financial impact on the employees of the Navy which is less.

3. Provide flexible work options, providing maternity benefits, parental leave, benefit of family over employee etc. These things are cnsidecons in the work /life balance while recruiting and retention process.

This is less considered in navy than private sector.
