Strategic leader: A person who defines the vision and mission statement for the corporation. He will be formulate such startegic orientation to the company which competitors can not achieve. He will position the company as most trusted brand in the related industry . He will motivate and influence every stakeholders of the organization. He will set many option to achieve strategic advantage.  

For example : Tim cook , Sunder Pichai etc. are strategic leaders.

Vision statement: A company should focus to work on its vision statement which is a long term success documents filled up with future tact and tactics adopted by corporations to lead in the marketplace. It will be formulated by top management of the organization. It sees the future course of actions adopted by the organization. Companies like Apple, IBM, General motors, Unilever etc. are getting great success due to their strictness with vision and associated mission.

A start up might set its vision to achieve leader position in next five year in terms of market share.

Environmental scanning: It is a process of gathering information so as to formulate strategies for the organization. It includes both external as well as internal scanning of the organization. External market or forces can be analyze through Political, economical , social , technological, legal and environmental ( PESTLE) framework. It will require to analyze its strengths and weaknesses to know the internal factors responsible to gain the strategic advantage for the organization. Even , it is the first step in strategic management process.
