Leadership and leaders are vital for the success of any organization. Leadership is essential for the organization excellence at any given entity and given today’s age of dynamic reality where market variables and needs and requirements of the customers are changing rapidly it is the leadership at the organization which enables it to accept, adopt, and implement changes in its business model. Leadership is also important as it influences and motivates people to perform their tasks more efficiently more competently.

The type of leaders that are needed now are leaders who are able to provide a shared vision of where the organization is heading and what its purpose is. A leader, in today’s dynamic times, should be able to set objectives and provide a strategic direction to the organization. A leader today will have to identify systematic interventions that will provide the maximum leverage to the organization.

Leaders today are required to have an appetite to face the challenges created by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. The challenges can be faced only if the leaders show an unquenchable desire to learn. A leader will have to constantly learn, unlearn and relearn. Secondly leaders will require having a resolute mindset to embrace changes that are happening around the world and around their eco-system that directly affects their organization. Lastly leaders should not buckle under the pressures of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity but instead should have an unwavering commitment to adhere to their core values and never compromise on them.
