Solution: A paperless attendance system to be installed across all classrooms. The attendance makes use of Bluetooth, GPS and camera to mark a student present. The attendance should be taken within 5 minutes of the start of the class. This way it also keeps a check on the latecomers.
The problem must be reported by the teachers to the Head of the Department. The HOD must take actions to solve the problem of proxy attendances and systematic record keeping of classes. The proposed solution would bring an ease of attendance and systematic checks on class presence. The student would also not have to double check from the Teaching Assistant on their class attendance as the records would be available to them in their phones through a small app.
The new system requires participation from the department for the installation, from the students for the participation and from the teachers- monitoring and control.
