Explanation / Answer

Answer: Both deficit reduction and the social media style of training can be effective in the same organization. In fact both of these approaches can be used for supporting each other inside the organization. The Deficit reduction approach to training focuses on the identification of the deficits that exist in the skills and abilities of the employees. The social media style of training is only a training tool that enables the trainers to use the latest social media technologies to connect with the employees and help them to develop themselves. Hence the deficit reduction approach can be used for the identification of the deficit areas of an individual and then social media can be used for imparting one to one training to that employee. A collective training program can also be delivered by use of social media like face book. Hence both deficit reduction approach and the social media style of training can be effectively used in the same organization.
