Especially in times of recession, companies need to think about boosting their advertising spending rather than slashing it. Who will be responsible for the advertising campaign? Where are they going to advertise? Who is their target consumer?

Let us take a product for example Samsung Mobile phones. This mobile phone is manufactured by South Korea. This product is present in almost any country in the world. Let us discuss how this product could be marketed in a country like India.
India is the second most populated country in the world after China. After the advent of telecommunication systems, usage of mobile phones has become a necessity to every individual across the world. The reason for marketing it in a country like India is that, being the most populous country, there is huge potential base of consumers who can buy this product
Media that could be used to promote the product is television. In India no household is without a television. Even the smallest of villages where the government authorities are providing for electricity, free of cost, has television in the household. Hence television is the best media to advertise in.
