A representative of McDonald’s has contacted your group to help make an important decision. Due to the increasing hostility of the press regarding the unhealthy nature of some of the company’s products, top management is concerned about the company’s future. In response, some members of McDonald’s management team would like the company to diversity into markets/industries that have nothing to do with food products.
The goal is to use the nominal group technique discussed in the reading to address this important issue for McDonald’s. Although this is not a group assignment, you will need to simulate that you deliver the final recommendation as a group. At the end of this exercise, you should have at least one recommendation for McDonald’s top management team. When you have finished this exercise, list the primary advantages and disadvantages of this technique.

diversifying is always good, but not with this kind of causes. because of problems in existed system, we should exit from it and enter into other activity which are unrelated to the business till now. i can say that it is not a wide decision. instead of do that, analyse the problems in existed system, and the aspects. study the consequences and outcomes of those problems. and analyse them, then try to minimize them.
focusing on other activities because of these reasons is not correct.
ofcousrse, the existing process may really gives a bad impression on the firm, but if we rectify them and again approach the people, definitely it turns to positives. it may takes long time, it occurs huge amounts and even high stress also. but the fine player has to perform at high presures only.
the advantages with this: they can meet the customer expectation, they can overcome the problems, they can build brand name more strongly, even non-customers to McDonalds also turns as customers.
the disadvantages are: high expenditure, huge amount of resource utilization, it may or may not give positive results at the end.
