Functional Organizational Structure :

Concept :

This organizational structure tries to classify people according to their work fucntionalities that they perform in the company.Employees specialised in th same department and do the same fucntioanlities are grouped and classified to be one fucntional department.Such as, all the accountants are grouped into accounting department and all the marketing sales executives are grouped into marketing department.

Each functional department is run under the supervisiory of a senior most fucntional department head.He is responsible for all the actions done and the quality perfromance in the department .The main difference with this fucntional department is that they report to the senior fucntional manager, while in the other organizational structures employees report their project manager.
