Explanation / Answer
The performance management system is an important tool to help employees improve their performance, understand strength and weakness of the work area as well as help the organization to grow and achieve its goal. I found it is very useful.
The manager use to explain me the goals set and expectations. It helped to align and work upon my weak areas. The goals were in line with the company's strategic goal and overall business objective. It did provide me all the useful information about administrative decisions including the company's plan for me in future. So, it helps to prepare well in advance on future opportunities. I got to know about my strong and weak zones. It eventually helped to improve the performance. The manager did provide support as a coach on how to further improve performance and accomplish targets being set. Although it did not provide useful information on workplace planning and allocation related to human resource. Also, it lacked two way communications. There was only one way communication by Manager and no feedback on how to enhance the system for better use. So, these areas were missing link
However, the performance management system helped me a lot to improve. I underwent training for the weak areas. Also, it improved my interpersonal skills which helped me to grow in the career. The sharing of strength helped me to take up jobs more suited to me
