Should it be necessary to enact legislation to cover every situation? Just because something is legal (or hasn't been ruled as illegal), does that necessarily make it right?

Explanation / Answer

1. Violation of ethics by employees at work place, in any form, at any time, is never encouraged by firms. They oppose every kind of violation either small or big, by one employee or more than one employee. The challange of management is prevent the employees to violate the rules, but not focus on the punishments for violations. So, the management and team leaders or higher authority must focus on prevention of violations rather than focusing on punishments. Educate the employees about violations, create awareness among them about the results, how the firm and as individual you are going to be suferred with those violations.

2. Code of ethics are the set of rules and values of business which covers in its busienss mission. It coveres issues like the professional behaviors of the people in organization, the policies prepared by the people, approaches of probelm dealing, and so on. These may be vary from one nation to another, and one location to other. Hence, a firm which is operating in more than one nation, may follow different code of ethics in each unit or location, seperately. It depends on many factors like the legal conditions of the nation, the reporting aspects in the nation, the culture and beliefes of the individual and so on.

3. One should obey to law, law says and decides what is right and what is wrong. but it nevers says that what is good and what is bad. It will be decided by the people, by the situations, and many other factors. Law does not mention exceptions in its implementations. For example, if you crossed a traffic signal and runs your car, you will be caught and fined, as per law. But if you are carrying a patient who needs emergency medical services at the same time, you can decide whether you obey law or violate law. Hence, I can say that, law is cofined with what is legally accepted and not accepted, but not one what is good and what is bad. It is in the hands of people and how they manage it.
