Starbucks is an effective example of a current global corporation which has nicely managed its global organizational structure. Starbucks is well known as a coffee giant and known for its premium coffee offering. It has gourmet coffee and important global operations which has expanded to countries like India, China, Japan, Africa (Meyer 2017). It is a large global corporation and it makes use of expansive and effectively simple organizational structure.
The current organizational structure of Starbucks has matrix structure and it has important four features of global structure. This insures functional, geographic divisions, divisions based on product and global teams (Meyer 2017). The top down structure of executives is used in the matrix structure of Starbucks. This is effective for the company and in this matrix structure of top down executives structure the top level hierarchy is obtained by the CEO who is established in United States. There is utilization of the headquarters of US for the divisions of marketing.
