Write a properly worded and formatted bad-news memo (as this is an internal document) based on the following scenario: In January of 2016, the employees of the Cosmos Street branch of the Terrapin Insurance Corp. asked the manager for a "casual day" on Fridays to raise money for local charities. On casual day, in return fora $2 donation to a charity chosen by the staff, employees can wear jeans, and men do not have to wear a dress shirt and tie After some discussion, the manager agreed. Casual day was insti tuted as of January 25, and it has been very popular with all the staff Now, ten months later, the company is finding that some custom- ers are commenting and even complaining that the employees look untidy, even scruffy. The manager has noticed that, on hot days, some of the employees, male and female, are coming to work in shorts and T-shirts or tank tops; sometimes their jeans are (fashionably) ripped or even dirty. Sandals with bare feet have also become a commonplace on casual day among some of the men. Occasionally, an employee will wear casual-day clothing on a non-casual day The manager is worried, with some reason, that casual day is hurting the company's image with the public. He could, of course, remind staff of the original guidelines for casual day, and he did so, informally, in July. However, although there was an improvement for a few weeks, the standards again become too relaxed Therefore, the manager has decided that casual day has not worked out and will have to be canceled. I regret to inform you that the management has taken the decision to call off the casual day from now on as it has not worked in the favor of the company’s image. Even after an informal warning in July the staff was wearing shorts, T shirts or even ripped jeans which made them look untidy and this hits the reputation of the organization in the market.

We hope that you understand the rationale behind taking this decision and would find some other ways of contributing to the charitable causes.
