A summary of report on the leadership journey within the organization
Leadership is the art of doing business in an effective way. It actually shows the capability of individual to handle the team. In the organization every employee wants to be the boss but few only can reach out to the goal. It is only because of the leadership qualities which employee possess. Leadership is an effective tool to enhance the performance of individual.
I was working as the business analyst in a financial advisory company. I need to Handel a team which has two members. I had to guide my team members as I was the leader of the team. I need to perform the routine check of the assignment allowed to them in addition to mine. Support my team with best of my knowledge. Share the knowledge, conduct meetings, and discuss about the assignment with my team members. I work as a senior to my team. My role is also as a knowledge base, leader, guide, path finder and a motivator. The leadership challenges were competing with other team's business analyst, confidence during setbacks, set down to give the opportunity to others, admitting the mistake and many more. But we need to overcome these challenges as they may be hurdle in your success.
My leadership journey is influenced by many people. Although leadership starts by birth as per the Social behavioural theory but it is not always. My journey of leadership was influenced by my faculty members during my studies but when I was employee of financial advisory firm one of my team head was influenced a lot. I was very lazy in my work so most of the time I was not able to perform well. But one day a most important task was assigned to me which needs team effort and I was very good in handling the team. It was the situation which changed by leadership quality as I performed well in that work and got number of appreciations from different team leaders of the financial advisory and got the perks from the company. So, I thought that performance is most important aspects of leadership.
A summary on the current leadership:
Leadership qualities enhances with the time and most importantly with continuous efforts. My leadership capabilities enhanced with the environment around me. Most famous quote is that if the audience is strong then the chances to enhance the capabilities and qualities are also become strong. I have learned from my team that how to give up opportunities in order to enhance the team work. It actually creates the positive impact on the fellow colleagues or team members. Adaptation of change is continuous development of leadership qualities. I have learned the effective team management from the team where I performed. I have learned effective communication, management of team with democratic leadership style, listen to the ideas of the fellows in team, coordination with team etc.
This factors implies that the leadership qualities are enhancing with the enhancement of the social and behavioural qualities. This supports the process of management effectively. With this, people becomes cooperative.
The models and theories which I used is the behavioural model. With this model I have learnt that what the good leader should do. The trait theory also used here in development of leadership qualities.
