Discuss how revising, editing, and proofreading differ and explain which one of these items you personally need to do more carefully. Compare at least two web pages from the same business/industry. Discuss which page was more effective and discuss the strengths and weaknesses you found on the websites. You can choose any two websites, but they should be from the same industry. For example, you could compare the websites of two different retailers; choose two different state government websites; choose two different service industry websites, etc. You can choose to evaluate whatever companies/industries you desire. Be sure to list the websites you evaluated.

Explanation / Answer

Revision - Revision means're-visiong' your paper. It is the big picture work and the first step before editing and proofreading. Revision can require adding material, taking material away, working with big strokes of paper.

Editing - It is the second stage or second phase after revision.It is what you do after revise. Editing is when you correct any awkwardness that may have occured in the initia drafting or in revision.

Proofreading - It is the ast step or last phase after revision and editing. It consist final sweep through your paper with an eye for errors. Here, the person check for errors in sentence structure, grammar, verb tense, and punctuation.

Personally, revision needs to be done more carefully because it is the premise of editing and proofreading. Once you are doing revision throughly you get to know the areas of editing and errors that needs to be corrected.

For the purpose of comparison of 2 web pages let us comsider the e-commerce industry and websites: Snapdeal and Flipkart

Snapdeal:- Home page is more synchronized as few adds are displayed, adds changes according to the preferences of search result, Menu on the left side wich gives more clear view of featured or discounted brands and local brands, sub categories are shown in left side, donot ask for login if you are searching on it,etc.

Flipkart - Home page is filled with a ot of advertisement, adds changes according to the preferences of the search result, horizontal menu makes the user to scroll down to view more featured brands, sub categories are shown at home page, Keep asking for login if you are searching on it,etc.

Flipkart page is more effective because it gives the view access to all featured brands with heavy discount initialy and left side shows the deals of the day. Its filter options are much more promising then the Snapdeal.

Srength and weakness of websites are summed up as:

Snapdeal

Strength - More product description in clear and concise way, gift card button appears on the top of the website, short description at the bottom of the home page, etc.

Weakness - Similiar products are not shown in search result, filter search column does not appear in every search, less zoom of product graphics can be possible, tec.

Flipkart

Strength - Similiar product are shown in search result, filter search column appears on every search, more zoom of product graphics is there, etc.

Weakness - Less product description is showed, offerzone button is there rather tahn gift button, viewer need to click about us to know general about the company, etc
