What source did you use?
"Tall hierarchy" of authority...does the org. chart have multiple levels up and down? Most gov. agencies are tall hierarchies, especially DOD. Tall hierarchies will generate a rating of 1-3 or"Flat hierarchy"... the organizational chart look wide, with few upper-lower levels. A flatter hierarchy will have workforce capable of communication-collaboration tasks (see Specialization above) Google has a flatter hierarchy. Flatter hierarchies will generate a rating of 8-10
Explanation / Answer
Linkedin has over 5500 employees worldwide across more than 30 cities. Naturally, the approach to flat structure may not be exactly suitable for an organization such as Linkedin. While it is possible that the organization publicizes flat organizational structure in reality, there will be decent amount of hierarchy and bureaucracy when an organization is as large as Linkedin. In addition, to this, the company was acquired by Microsoft in 2016. Hence, in all likelihood, some of the cultures from Microsoft has been passed on to Linkedin in the past two years.
Having said that Linkedin organization structure is pretty straight forward. While there is a comparatively higher degree of hierarchy at the top management, the ground level structure experiences a more flat structure.

We can see that just at the executive level, the hierarchy has three steps. However, when it comes to ground level operations (for example, in New York office the hierarchy is likely to be flat). The decision making process is usually regional and there is good level of collaboration and communication within the teams.
This information was collected from some online sources (theofficialboard). It was further validated by my ex-colleagues who are still working for Microsoft. (I am an ex-employee of Microsoft R&D team)
