Question

There are a number of reasons why human resource mangers might want to develop a strategy for providing employee voice. Here ae some possibilities:

Learning about employee’s ideas for improved productivity, quality, and cost savings.

Increasing employee satisfaction and loyalty therefore improving productivity and reducing turnover. Decentralizing decision making to improve responsiveness and flexibility to changing business needs. Increasing employee’s problem-solving communication and decision-making skills. Making work more democratic.

Providing a substitute for a union. Is this Ethical?

Explanation / Answer

Human resource managers today actually want to develop strategies which will make the employees raise their concerns and for that to happen they are promoting employee communication more instead of a Union doing that for employees, hence this will help increasing employee satisfaction and reduce turnover of employees and simultaneously this will increase the employees problem solving communication and decision making skills which will make work more democratic as well. I believe that this is ethical because this will reduce the dependency on the union and make work easy and convenient for the employers to handle and even the employees will grow and develop as professionals in the workplace.
