I agree that relations between the Ferguson Police Department and public are struggling in the city. Not only in Ferguson, but in the nation, this continues to be a challenge. In one article I read, "Federal Judge Approves Ferguson Consent Decree" By Rachel Lippmann 2016, one way the city is addressing the issue of unfair police practices is by putting in place a Consent Decree for two years. In this "The first major focus is the hiring of an independent monitor who will track the city's progress toward compliance. The consent decree will be lifted once Ferguson is in full compliance for two years." (Lippman, 2016) It has been two years since the publishing of the article in fact, and I wonder how things have changed since it was implemented. Implementation of the consent decree what's correct approach for the city but this type of approach requires proper curation is the monitor is working fine. When implementing consent decree for the city, should have also implemented a better feedback system from the police as well as from the civilians to understand the compatibility issues. Which type of feedback system would have been very beneficial for the city to understand the differences and to improve the services accordingly. Electronic feedback systems and anonymous as well as arranged meetings between two civilians and the police would be the most beneficial think to understand inequality as well as to provide better support to the overall society structure.
