Constructing a moral argument for the following issue/statement: People need to pass a driving test to get a license to drive a car. People should also have to take a test and get a license before they can become a parent. After all, parenting is a greater responsibility and requires more skill than driving. The complete assignment should be thorough and well-thought out. Substantiate your answers with facts; don't just respond with your "opinions." The topic here on which a moral argument has to be penned is that when we need to drive a car, we need to pass a driving test, then why not parents need to get a license before they become a parent because it is the matter of the life of an individual.

First of all, I would like to mention that the point raised is a very valid one and there should be a debate on the same. This is more relevant in today's scenario where people especially working parents dont have the time to manage their kids full fledgedly like it was maybe a decade or two earlier. Nowadays, money has become a more important part of life. The perception is if you have money now, your future is secure. But in this process, we tend to lose the present priorities and work for a longer term goal which might or might not be possible.

Another very important factor that makes this concept more valid is the amount of time a family spends together. In most of the households, both the parents are working and they have to manage their social lives as well to succeed in their respective jobs. In this case, what would happen if they give birth to a child? Is it right to handover the baby to a caretaker? Are the caretakers so trustworthy that you are handing over your most precious jewel to somebody who you dont know would actually take good care of your child or not?

Now, if we think about these two factors, I definitely think that parents should analyse their options and should plan how to take care of the baby rather than planning to give birth to a baby. If they plan as to how they can manage time from their schedules and take good care of their baby and ensure they are brought up in the right environment. This helps them bring up their child in good culture and spending more time with the baby would make the baby more comfortable and builds a good bond. Therefore, I do feel that parents must analyse seriously or even pass a parenting test before planning for a child. This would help them understand their responsibilities better and how being irresponsible would affect their future plans.
