Need to show work as well!
Media Metrics GRPs and TRPs As shown in the previous worksheet, ratings are a basic measurement in media. As long as the geographic or target audience base is held constant, ratings across multiple programs or multiple media can be accumulated into some aggregate measure of the overall audience weight of a media plan. We call this aggregated sum of ratings Gross Rating Points or GRPs. If the audience target for the media plan is some segment of a population base, then we call the aggregated measure Target Rating Points or TRPs. The keys to this definition are simple, both the geographic base and the audience base for the media plan must be held constant for rating points to be accumulated. The word accumulated means simply added together Now keep this in mind as you answer the following questions. If you can't answer the question with the information provided, just say so. . If your national media plan delivers 100 household rating points in daytime television and 250 household ratings points in primetime television, how many total rating points are delivered? 2. If your national media plan delivers 100 Men 18-34 rating points on Cable TV networks and 250 Men 18-34 rating points on broadcast TV networks, how many total rating points are delivered? 3. There are varous measures to calulate TRP for e.g. TRP can be calcualted by measuring how much time an average viewer spends on a particular proagram during a day. For e.g. if there is a new show / talk show for 1 hour, then the device attached to TV measures how much time viewer spent to watch that program for e.g. if user spends only 10 minutes to watch that program then the time captured is only 10 minutes.
GRP on the other hand is used in advertizement, it is calculated as percentage of target market reached multipled by the exposure. For e.g. if the add is played 4 times and it reaches 40% of the targeted audiance the the GRP would be 120 GRP.
Question have missing details of worksheet, but we can take assumptions here.
The ceriterias provided for the target focus group given are men and women, of different age groups from 18 to 34.
The Figures are provided for TRP for daytime show and nighttime show. as 100 and 250.
So if a product is being advertized 10 times during the day, on network which targets age group of 18 to 34 and its viewed by 40% of people of the target audience then the GRP would be 100GRP.
