Directions: As part of the learning activities, you performed a web search on company celebrations. Consider what your current employer does, or a previous employer did, to recognize extraordinary accomplishments and answer the following questions:
• How does your company celebrate its values and victories? How do these celebrations compare to what you found in your web search?
• How effective are the recognition or celebration experiences within the organization?
• What could the company do better in recognizing employees?
• What would you do for your employees as a manager or leader? Would you stick with the organization's efforts, or do something different? Explain.
Explanation / Answer
From web search, I identify something type of celebrations do by organisations when they experienced great achievements, some organisations arrange parties, some organisations provide gifts for their employees, these celebrations are different based on individual achievements and team achievements.
If success is based on individual employee effort, company will arrange or invite for lunch and celebrate his success and if success based on every team member effort, company will arrange party and let each employee to enjoy his success.
1. My company celebrates success or achievement hy gathering all people at a restaurant or resort, management call every person to speak some words about his efforts behind the success, they happily share their feelings and remaining people learn something from them, after that company arrange some cultural activities and even our company employees also participate in that cultural activities, after that company arrange nice food, but in other companies, we just can observe the parties only, we can see cultural activities and speeches.
2. If recognition celebrating in an organisation, employees will try to put more efforts for the next time and it will boost their esteem and encourage for the next achievement
3. Company can choose open or public appreciation to recognise employee success, if manager give private appreciation, it can finish within four walls, if he gives public voice to employee effort, he will feel better and happily accept his recognization and try to put more efforts.
4. As a manager, I will try to put more efforts to recognize my people efforts, after completion of every project, I identify individual efforts, I personally went to their cabin and appreciate personally and gather crow and give him or her big appolisel. I try to provide them some incentives for his or her efforts
