The most challenging ethical consideration is to take the right decision about the trade-off between the profitability to the organization and value creation for the other stakeholders including the customers and community. Here, the organization tries to be ethical, take morally right decisions, but don’t lose out to the profits due to the high level of competition and rising overhead costs. Hence, a line is to be drawn by the organization when they practice ethics and apply best corporate governance practices.
It happens in different scenarios. For example, it is present when the presentation is made to the potential customers and data presented can be hidden to improve the scope of profit, or show the actual data and create value for the customers. It may come with low level of return. In research work also, an agency can think of collecting the data in a way that suits the objective of the clients, but it may be at the cost of unrealistic results, that I unethical. A right set of data and subsequent research outcome may be non-pleasing to the client, but a right analysis that is ethical. It affects the client management and its long term relations. So, it makes management to consider different aspects of the ethical decisions.
