Question

Labor is usually one of the biggest expenses a company will have. Having a bunch of salesmen on the floor to help sell items will cost more money then we would like to spend. If the sporting goods store can afford to purchase bright lights so that the customer can see all the items that are being displayed, clean floors to provide an easy and cleanliness experience when purchasing their equipment, and competitive prices. Sports stores are not uncommon and you typically locate a few within the same area, so making sure your prices are fair and competitive will allow for a trustworthy sale to your consumer with hopes they will return. Stores that are dull and do not provide good lighting make it an unpleasant feeling when purchasing equipment.I know when I go to try new clothes or new shoes the bright lights they use in front of the mirrors make the clothes and shoes pop and tend to make me feel better about how they look. Target does a great job at keeping the sales floor clean to provide a brighter and more pleasänt experience. Sports equipment can be tried on and demonstrated so it would be best if the retailer had a mannequin that displayed the equipment being worn so the customer can see how they should be worn. this displayed can always be changed to any sales items they might be promoting or the latest gear that just arrived. Some stores need to change in order to keep up, with e commerce now taking off and amazon crushing the market every little detail in a retail store matters, it is always about the customer and their experience, my customer service job is predicated on our customer service to even the cleanliness of the lounge. this is part of the experience and memory that customer will share to their friends and family. Explanation / Answer

The articles are about retail outlets on how they can improve upon sales .

The first article is about maintaining the environment in best possible shapes by keeping it clean and making it attractive for customers to visit by using good lights both outside and inside for displaying the items . Each and every item should be thoroughly cleaned every day and should be displayed in the best possible manner . The store must look like a happening place with good music running depending upon the type of customers most likely to visit the outlet . If the visitors are young the music will be the trending one as per their taste and if the visitors are old then music will be as per their taste . Each and every staff at the outlet should be knoledgeable about the products being sold at the store and self motivated one eager to help and advise each and every customer who visits the store . The whole point is to make the customers to stay longer in the store because more they stay more is their likely hood of doing more purchases . If the environment is compounded by low prices than the competitors in the vicinity of that area then the store will be instant hit as the customers are getting every thing in the store.

The second article is about keeping those goods in the store which are the needs of the customers in that area and keeping an eyeline on economic state in the country and in that area . Most important here is to study the area and figure what type of customers stay there . The most likely questions that needs to be answered here are :

A. Are they young ?

B. Are they old ?

C. Are they careful about their money or do they like to spend ?

These 3 questions will decide upon the type of goods to be kept in the store and how to price them . If customers are young and rich then the store has to make sure it has all the latest goods in the store and should not be much critical about the prices . If customers are young and not so rich then the store will still have to have the latest goods but will have to price them in a manner they are affordable for customers . If customers are old and rich then may be the store has to keep those goods which are as per their requirement and trending in their age group . Pricing is important here as old and rich do keep a tab on prices . If customers are old and not so rich then store has to keep goods as per the old age group and make them affordable . For attracting customers advertising and promotion becomes very important as it helps in communicating to the customers on the goods available in the store . Both advertising and promotion has to be done in the most neatest manner .

The third article is about keeping a wide range of goods in the outlet and communicating to the customers through emails & pampers on what is being sold and the discounted prices at which it is being sold . Wide range of products and discounted prices if communicated in the right way and at right time attract everyone .More the number of units sold in the outlet more purchasing power will the outlet owners will get as they can buy at lower prices and price the products for customers more attractively . Now a days retailers are very smart as they do keep a lot of optional items which can be replaced easily and in no time if they do not attract response . Here the point is to keep those items in display which the customers . This is very important as the retailers has to keep a close tab on what the customers are looking at , the trend they are following and for what they are asking for when they are in the store .  And when the customers visit the outlet the experience should be as good as at the main showrooms . Proper display , cleanliness and good knowledgeable & helpfull staff will help . Some retailers are very good at it and customers visit the outlets as they feel that although it is a retail outlet the quality of goods is as good as in the main store and prices are better here .
