Explanation / Answer

1. The protections that Amendment to the US constitution addresses are rights to freedom of religion and freedom of expression. It protects the individuals with a freedom to follow any religion and does not impose any national religion or religious practice on them. Under freedom of speech they are free to express through words or press their thoughts and grievances. They have the protection of the right to peaceably assembly and to petition to government for grievances.

2. These protections are important because they are protections for the individual rights of farmers. It helps in the maintainence of the democratic government where the people, who are farmers here on the rights of religion, speech, press, petition and assembly. The farmers went through religious strife wherein the farmers were forced on following religious practices. In the same way freedon of speech and press allowed the individuals to express their thoughts and issues openly, right to petition and assemble gave them the right to freedom to express their grievances to the government about an issue which is in common interest.

3. The restrictions of each protection is that it cannot be forced or followed by individual or group of individuals which is harful to others. For example following religious practices that are harming some other religious beliefs, in freedom of speech shouting 'fire' in a crowd to fakely scare everyone, calling for an assembly or petition that is directly harming or pointing someone else's rights or freedom cannot be practised under this law.
