11-Explain at least two examples of dark age thinking in our time? NOTE: In answering this question, many students jump to North Korea as an answer. It is always better to look INWARD at your own community--your own state, not outward whenever answering questions like this. Is there a difference between the "dark ages" of North Korea and that "dark age thinking" of Utahns? The scientific term for this phenomena is provincialism. Try to answer this question by using examples around you. Who around you uses dark age thinking?
Explanation / Answer
This means whatever is under consideration cannot happen even if you wait for eternity it will all be in vain. It would also means that the issue under consideration would contradict another acknowledged or fact of science, a so-called law of nature.
For Charles Darwin’s work, we know that the process of evolution is a process of error elimination from one generation to the next, for instance mutation is an error in organic chemistry involved in genetic coding. Thanks to evolution this errors are corrected and eliminated over time after evry generation.
According to Freud, the evidences of errors in today’s human society are religion, superstition, political parties and ideology. As a result of all this, when we as humans fail to understand reality, we say it is because there is an error in our perceptions of it.
According to Heisenberg all things are indeterminate, or uncertain. In fact, the harder one tries to determine something, the more indeterminate it becomes. As a result since the things in the future have not yet happened that means we cannot predict what is to come. The only thing we can be certain about are those in the past since they have already happened and have already been seen.
In today’s world, some might argue that there is free will also the existence of a being who knows all things, which would abuse the very meaning of the words. As a result of this you would force thinkers to use other words. This would not change the contradiction but just make it bigger, so determinism excludes free will and indeterminacy does not.
