For the purposes of this paper, assume that you are the new PR director for an aggressive nutritional supplement company. The company CEO wants you to start a negative PR campaign against the competition.

In your paper, detail why or why not such a campaign is advisable, focusing on the potential legal ramifications of running such a campaign and what you might do to manage them.

I would highly advise CEO not to start a negative campaign because I don’t believe is the right way to obtain more customers, here is why:

One danger with negative campaigns is that customers might have an adverse effect upon the whole product we are trying to sell.

I realized that negative campaign might work sometimes but there is a risk that the negativity of the advertise make the consumers question the credibility of us.

This type of advertising does work but when the message is very simple and clear, if we are going to move forward on this it should be about the price comparisons or the result of one person using our products and another one using our rival’s product and when we compare it ours is better.

On the legal side there also implications, we need to look out and not fall into one of the following cases:

We could go to court if you do not go by the law.

In order to manage them I wouldn’t use a negative campaign I would just focus on what we do, our products and how they are helping people all around the world to be healthier but if you insist on going negative we can focus on the price and the results of people vs the price and results of the rivals.
