You work for an organization which operates in a service sector and has more than 500 employees. Recently your company has experienced issues with employee teamwork. Employees seem to be having difficulty working well together in various teams. Your boss has asked you to lead an effort to research ways to create an effective team work environment and give him advice on how to solve the problem. After you conduct your research, you will deliver a presentation to the CEO and Board of Directors on your findings. After viewing the video, reading the textbook, and conducting research in the Kaplan library, complete the following Assignment with your team:

Permanent teams: These teams perform on a permament basis and are not dissolved when the task is completed

Temporary teams: These teams are dissolved once the task is completed

Task Force: Team created specially to work on a specific project or solve a problem

Committee: These teams are assemble to work on a particular assignment permanently or temporarily, usually with similar backgrounds

Virtual teams: Individuals that are separated by distance but are connected through the computer

Strong team leadership: A strong team leader will bring the best of each team member, he is not the one who will make all the decisions but will help the team to achieve the goals

Common goals and objectives: Team leader must ensure that team shares the same goals and objectives, it is not uncommon that when a team is assemble some members have different objectives which can be a problem

Diversity among members: This doesn’t mean that we need members from different parts of the world (which could be ok) but diversity means different skills and experience that will be helpful on the project

Learning from each other: It is important to learn from each other besides working together. Members should spend time outside to get to know each other

To create a team it is important to have the goal already set, what we are trying to achieve.

Usually within an organization there are those people who set themselves apart from the others, those who always go the extra mile and are willing to help the company, I would go for them first.

Look for diversity on skill and experience, and be careful and investigate if there is any issue among the ones you choose.

Learn what motivates each of them and set the expectation bar high and let them know if high because they can do it.
4) Help the CEO in the scenario by applying what you have learned regarding teams to solve the team problems:
· How can the teams effectively build trust amongst team members?

Team members must be honest and transparent, it is the only way to build trust.

Make an outside activity, take them to a forest for a weekend and plan activities that need team collaboration in order to succeed, this is a great way for them to come together.

Schedule a lunch every month (paid by the company) where they don’t talk business, just hanging out and learn from each other.
· How might the CEO encourage collaboration in a team environment?

         Set high expectations, provide team incentives, performances bonuses. The team leader does not need to be a manager or someone with senior position, let the people with the most adequate skills lead each project this will make each employee want to excel at what they do.

Pay what is fair to employees, in most companies there is great talent that changes jobs because they feel they are not receiving a fair compensation for their job, keep your talent, it is more expensive to replace them than to give them a raise.
