The cycle time of the subsystem Cereal cooker / Coating drum = 4 tons/ hour

However cycle time of the following subsystem Raisin Bran Packaging = 1.5 tons/ hour

Therefore , Amount by which inventory in Raisin Bran Hopper change ( INCREASE ) per hour

= 4 – 1.5 = 2.5 tons hour

ANSWER : C ) GOES UP BY 2.5 TONS PER HOUR

Answer to Part B :

After the switch over from production of raisin Bran to Frosted Flakes, the line Frosted flakes Hopper – Frosted flakes packaging becomes operational and Raisin Bran packaging stops operating. This results in ZERO offtake from raisin Bran Hopper and therefore inventory in Raisin Bran Hopper remains the same
