1. I think it was ethical for Kumarajah to lie as it eradicates the possibility of conflict between Lim and Kumarajah and could have affected the healthy/smooth functioning of the organization which also helped the organization to maintain harmony among the workforce/staff.

It wasn't ethical for Lim to put pressure on the staff as he was carrying out unethical practices within the organization and confronting each of the engineers may arise internal conflicts within the unit and could harm the healthy relationship among the subordinates/coworkers and also affects the morale of the coworkers which may taper the revenue of the company in the long run.

Kumarajah could have confronted Lim directly and reminded him of the ethical values of the workplace/company and should have advised him to stop such unethical practices as it may harm the revenue of the company, and Lim may also lose his job in the long run if the senior authorities discover his inappropriate purchases for his personal use.
