Explain why you selected this study and what insights you have learned. How can this new insight help you in your classroom?

I am very different from other people who are the same age. Some people who are the same age they like to go dancing, they like to smoke, they want to have more fun. But not me…. Because right now, all the girls they like more fun (things) than sit down and think about psychology, think about family. I think it’s very difficult to find (a girlfriend) right now. If I find a girlfriend who not agree with any of my ideas, it would not be a good girlfriend. I don’t need (her to be) very much like me, but some … we would have a little in common. It is not about their color or their language, but their character. I like their character better

I think its an important point because if you understand another language or another culture, it’s very good for you. So I keep learning other cultures, other languages, other customs.

Some (Black) people very good. Most black people in (this town), they talk very nice. Some people very good and some people very bad. I have Chinese, I have Japanese, I have Cambodian (friends). Every kind of people. Because I care about character, not about color.

Explanation / Answer

I selected this study due to a few reasons. The first reason is that I wanted to learn about the people, their behavior and their perception building regarding the events taking place around them. In this regard, the study was going to help me. The second reason is to apply the learning of the study in societal and or organizational setting so that effective change in terms of modification in behavior and thought process is achieved.
The insights, I have learnt is the complex nature of the human behavior that keeps changing with the change in scenario. Further, I came to know the impact of external setting upon people and perception building. It helped me to understand and motivate the people and drive them to achieve the different goals, first at the classroom level, afterwards at the society level.
It helped me in the classroom to build a team and foster the teamwork among the team members. It helped to lead the team while managing the team dynamics. Besides, I motivated other students to like people on the basis of character, approach and behavior, rather than the skin color. It brought a mini social change at a classroom level.
